The Beauty of Barefoot: the extraordinary benefits of Earthing

What if you were told that by ditching your shoes and planting your bare feet squarely on the Earth, that you could reap many benefits, including increased feelings of spiritual grounding, elimination of jet lag symptoms, and even a reduction in chronic pain and inflammation?

Would you be tempted to give it a try?

“The most reasonable hypothesis to explain the beneficial effects of Earthing is that a direct earth connection enables both diurnal electrical rhythms and free electrons to flow from the earth to the body. It is proposed that the earth’s diurnal electrical rhythms set the biological clocks for hormones that regulate sleep and activity. Re-discover your Earth

Whether we acknowledge it or not, we are all naturally attracted to the earth. We feel good when we can place our bare feet on warm cement, dig our feet into sand, and walk barefoot in the grass. As children, we were much more in tune with this side of ourselves, and had the ability to do what felt right without fear of unacceptance. (“Why aren’t you wearing shoes? Won’t your feet get dirty?!”)

Then we grow up. (Boooo!)

We all need to take a step back and remember how good it felt to just walk around our backyards without the confines of shoes! (Do it– I dare you! Nothing bad will happen. I promise.)

Improve symptoms of jet-lag

By simply removing your shoes and standing or walking in the grass or even on the concrete after a long flight, your body is able to regulate hormones and cortisol levels, which can help reduce the symptoms of jet-lag. Why take medication or suffer for the first few days after a long trip? If Earthing can help you regain balance and clarity, you should at least consider trying it.

Reduce pain and inflammation

“It is proposed that free or mobile electrons from the earth can resolve chronic inflammation by serving as natural antioxidants.”[2] Hmmm. Mother Nature, is all her wisdom, has provided us with remedies for many things. We don’t need to burden our bodies with anything near to what most of us do on a regular basis.
